Roblox has millions of experiences, but discovering something genuinely different can sometimes be harder than that number suggests.
Open Roblox and you are naturally presented with experiences that are already performing well, games that are growing quickly and formats that the platform believes players are likely to enjoy. That works if you want to know what everybody else is playing, but it does not necessarily help when you want to find something completely different.
That frustration recently prompted a simple question on Reddit's r/roblox community: what is an underrated Roblox game that genuinely deserves more hype?
The person who started the discussion said they were tired of seeing what they described as the same grind heavy simulators and cash grabs on the front page. Instead, they wanted hidden gems where developers had clearly put effort into mechanics, lore, art direction or atmosphere.
The responses demonstrate just how much exists underneath Roblox's biggest games.
From psychological horror and RPGs to engineering sandboxes, tactical shooters, survival games and even competitive Minesweeper, these are some of the experiences Roblox players believe deserve considerably more attention.
A Broken Dream
One of the most detailed recommendations was A Broken Dream, a psychological horror experience influenced by dreamcore, weirdcore and liminal environments.
The Redditor who recommended it was particularly enthusiastic about the game's story, describing a character attempting to escape the difficulties of reality through mysterious "dream pills" that promise an eternal sleep. What initially appears to be a comforting escape gradually becomes considerably darker.
They also said the game is currently two thirds complete, with a final chapter called Descent Into Insanity in development. That's the player's description of its current state rather than something The Bloxline has independently confirmed.
For adults who still associate Roblox primarily with brightly coloured children's games, experiences like this are worth paying attention to. Roblox creators can use the platform for atmosphere and storytelling that looks very different from the experiences dominating its homepage.
Rise of the Dead
Another nomination was Rise of the Dead.
There wasn't a lengthy explanation attached to this recommendation, but its inclusion is interesting because Rise of the Dead isn't simply a brand-new game looking for its first audience. It's an established zombie experience that has existed on Roblox for years.
That highlights another meaning of "underrated" on Roblox.
A game doesn't necessarily have to be unknown. Sometimes players simply believe an experience deserves more attention than it currently receives, particularly when newer games have replaced older experiences in the wider conversation.
Ninja Girl: Slice of Justice
Perhaps the most concise sales pitch in the entire discussion belonged to Ninja Girl: Slice of Justice.
The Redditor who recommended it provided the Roblox experience directly in the thread and summarised the game in four words: "It's GTA with swords."

In Plain Sight 2 was another experience nominated by the community.
Its premise is very different from the progression heavy games that regularly appear across Roblox. Thieves attempt to steal while cameras are trying to identify and stop them, creating an asymmetric competition where the two sides approach the same match from completely different perspectives.
It's exactly the sort of unusual mechanic that can make an older Roblox experience worth rediscovering.
Rise of Nations
Someone also nominated Rise of Nations, Roblox's geopolitical strategy experience.
It's another useful example of the extraordinary range hidden behind the words "Roblox game".
Instead of collecting pets, completing an obby or repeatedly upgrading a character, the attraction here is managing a country and dealing with the economic, diplomatic and military dimensions of doing so.
For older players in particular, strategy experiences like Rise of Nations demonstrate that Roblox can offer considerably more complexity than its public reputation sometimes suggests.
Pilgrammed
Pilgrammed received multiple recommendations, making it one of the more noticeable names in the discussion.

Death in the Box was described by one Redditor as their personal favourite.
Interestingly, another player immediately offered a counterpoint. They felt that after accumulating high level items and enough wins, there wasn't enough left to keep the experience interesting.
That disagreement is arguably more useful than unanimous praise.
An underrated game doesn't have to be a flawless game. Players can love an experience while still recognising problems with progression, balance or long-term replayability.

Sometimes a recommendation needs no elaborate explanation.
One person simply answered: Mole Rat Simulator.

Block Tales, Cold Front and Entry Point
Another Redditor recommended three experiences together: Block Tales, Cold Front and Entry Point.
Block Tales is an RPG inspired experience with a presentation reminiscent of an earlier era of gaming, while Entry Point has developed a following around missions involving stealth and combat.
The recommendation of three very different games reinforces a recurring theme throughout the discussion.
There isn't really one type of "underrated Roblox game". Players are finding overlooked experiences across numerous genres.
One Redditor Had an Entire Library of Recommendations
One of the most useful responses came from a player who clearly had no intention of limiting themselves to a single game.

It's another example of why this discussion became so interesting. Once you move away from the biggest Roblox experiences, you begin finding developers experimenting with movement, racing and other mechanics that don't necessarily fit whatever format is currently dominating the platform.
An experience doesn't have to become the next enormous Roblox phenomenon to be creatively interesting.
Imposter and Roles
Another player nominated Imposter and Roles.
Social deduction is already a well established gaming format, but Roblox provides developers with room to remix familiar concepts with additional roles, mechanics and community driven gameplay.
Competitive Minesweeper
Then there is Competitive Minesweeper.
Yes, competitive Minesweeper.
A Redditor really did nominate it as one of Roblox's underrated games.
It might also be one of the best examples in the entire discussion of what Roblox can be when creators experiment.
Not every Roblox experience needs an enormous open world, complicated progression system or hundreds of collectible items. Sometimes taking an extremely familiar game and asking what happens when you turn it into a competitive Roblox experience is enough.
Westwood
Westwood received one of the more passionate recommendations in the thread.
The Redditor described it as a survival horror game and particularly praised its atmosphere, while acknowledging that its balancing isn't perfect. They felt that successfully surviving an entire in game year made the experience rewarding.
That's an important distinction when talking about underrated games.
These aren't professional reviews declaring that every game on the list is perfect. They're recommendations from people who have found something they personally believe deserves more attention.
And the word atmosphere appears repeatedly when Roblox players talk about hidden gems.
The experiences people remember aren't always those with the largest progression systems. Sometimes they're simply the ones that successfully create a particular feeling.
Carnage
One player nominated CARNAGE, although they admitted that they didn't necessarily consider it extremely underrated.
Their reasoning was simple: they wanted more people playing because they believed having more players would make its trials more enjoyable.
That's another challenge smaller multiplayer games face.
A single player game can remain enjoyable with a tiny audience. A multiplayer experience can fundamentally improve when more people discover it.
Airship Assault and Binsu Volleyball
Another player offered two more suggestions: Airship Assault and Binsu Volleyball.
They also supplied estimates of how many people they typically see playing both experiences. Those are individual Reddit observations rather than independently verified current player counts, so they shouldn't be treated as formal audience statistics.
The recommendation itself is more interesting.
Once again, two completely different types of Roblox game appeared in the same conversation.
And I'll Add Duck World 2
I'll add one of my own: Duck World 2.
I have played it, and it's exactly the kind of Roblox experience that made me want The Bloxline to spend more time looking underneath the surface of the platform.
I actually added Duck World 2 to the Reddit discussion myself.
There are enormous Roblox games that already have thousands of videos, guides and articles written about them. They don't need another publication telling people they exist.
Smaller games have a different problem. They need to be found.
Roblox Is Much Bigger Than Its Front Page
The most interesting thing about this Reddit discussion isn't deciding which recommendation deserves to be crowned the most underrated Roblox game.
It's the sheer variety of the answers.
Psychological horror. RPGs. Engineering. Strategy. Survival horror. Tower defence. Tactical shooting. Platforming. Social deduction. Volleyball. Competitive Minesweeper.
They all exist inside Roblox.
Yet someone could spend months playing the platform and never encounter many of them.
Even the r/roblox moderators acknowledged how frequently the community looks for overlooked games. An automated response to the discussion directs players towards the subreddit's community-maintained list of Roblox experiences and its recurring game-recommendation posts.
That tells us something important about Roblox discovery.
The games at the top of Roblox don't represent everything Roblox has to offer. They're simply one window into an enormous ecosystem of experiences competing for attention.

Sometimes finding those games means looking somewhere other than the front page.
